Crisis Intervention Training, presented by NAMI Snohomish County

A certified trainer in Edgework methodology will teach effective ways to approach and respond to those in crisis, particularly those suffering from mental illness and drug abuse. You will learn helpful strategies for safe, positive and helpful responses to potentially dangerous situations.

Compassion Fatigue: Reclaim the Joy of Caring is a skill-building CE program offered by LifeNet Health, dedicated to helping health care professionals identify the symptoms of compassion fatigue and strategies to overcome burnout. This session, intended for healthcare providers and other community-based professionals, will summarize the principles of psychological first aid and common reactions that may be seen in any crisis event, including the current pandemic. Practical advice will be shared on how to provide support to children and families during the current pandemic

This session will provide practical advice on how to support grieving children and families in any context. A wide range of topics will be covered, including what not to say, considerations related to grief across different cultures, how to initiate conversations with grieving children, identifying and addressing guilt, and appropriate academic accommodations.
