Providence caregivers can get discounted tickets to the Edge of Amazing Well-being Summit on Wednesday, October 6. Join the virtual conference to explore how a global pandemic has shaped and impacted how we build healthier communities. Edge of Amazing will feature conversations with keynote speakers on what it will take to move upstream amid repeated response to crisis and offer strategies for honoring our humanity while healing and sustaining ourselves and each other.

Critical Incident Stress Management Virtual Training

Oct 20-22 | 8am-5pm

This virtual course will prepare participants to understand a wide range of crisis intervention services for both the individual and for groups. Fundamentals of CISM will be outlined and participants will leave with the knowledge and tools to provide individual and group crisis interventions, defusing, and the Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD).

Considerations on Racism, Implicit Bias and Improving Care for Maternal and Infant Providers

African American, Native American and Alaska Native women are reported to be more than 2-3x more likely to die from causes related to pregnancy, compared to white women in the United States (CDC, 2019). Studies have further revealed that even when socio-economic factors are controlled for, the disparities remain significant. Race- related stressors have been linked to negative maternal health outcomes.

September – October is Hispanic Heritage Month. In celebration of all of our Hispanic and Latinx Caregivers, Providence hosted a virtual even and celebration on September 8, 12-1 pst, which will also included Hispanic trivia and information about our Latinx caregiver resource groups.
