Mukilteo School District

Back to School at Mariner High School

Providence Institute for a Healthier Community (PIHC) participated in the annual Mukilteo School District Back to School resource fair, held at Mariner High School. Students and families were welcomed with free back to school supplies including backpacks, immunizations, and haircuts.

PIHC supported this event by being onsite with distributing facemasks for students and families, along with having hand sanitizers, and several additional essential back to school items available. PIHC fieldwork students from UW-Bothell shared with kids and families health education nutrition information Seasons of Eating and handouts for our resource hub – where to access resources at www.livewelllocal.org such as healthy food, food banks, community gardens, and farmers markets. Folks of all ages played a fun trivia game motivating them to eat more fruits and vegetables and testing their knowledge of fruits and veggies.

A special thank you and shout out to our fieldwork students, Chisom, Trishala, and Fardowsa from University of Washington- Bothell, who helped support this event!
