Providence Regional Medical Center Everett (PRMCE) attended the 2nd annual Healthy Heart Fair event in honor of Robert C Polk, former athletic director of Everett Public Schools, organized by wife, Tara Polk, recognizing National CPR & AED awareness week. Beautiful weather was on tap for the event, held at Everett Memorial Stadium. Exercise, family fun, and heart health education was emphasized throughout the event. Several local community partners participated in the fun, including Everett Community College Nursing Studentswho offered blood pressure checks and a fun obstacle course.  The YMCA of Snohomish County supported a fun run around the track led by their fitness instructors and awarded kids with prizes and participation medals. The Everett Aquasox had Webbly the mascot out and about and provided discounted tickets for the evening ball game.

PRMCE caregivers provided health education information related to stroke prevention, spotting the warning signs of a stroke, trauma injury prevention Stop the Bleed- a free class open to community, and access to community well-being resources using Providence Institute for a Healthier Community (PIHC) Snohomish County Resource Hub www.livewelllocal.org.  Hula hoops were used to engage kids into active play and movement, sidewalk chalk was provided to encourage creativity and art, and beach balls were used as giveaways, which were a big hit!
