Our Health Education and Promotion (HEP) Team attended the annual Stanwood Camano 55+ resource fair, includingTrauma Injury Prevention, Stroke Prevention and Awareness, and Providence Institute for a Healthier Community. This event is held at the Camano Center with a complimentary lunch served to community members.
Our Trauma Injury Prevention department shared key messaging for older adults and the importance of fall prevention, along with information for their upcoming class– Stop the Bleed. Our Stroke department provided educational information for spotting the signs of a stroke, what to do if a stroke is suspected, and how to prevent having a stroke. PIHC shared with attendees LiveWellLocal.org— a resource hub where folks can find local resources from physical activity, walking trails, and support groups. Folks who attended the event had the opportunity to attend presentations to learn more about healthy living and aging and navigating local programs and support services.
Thank you, Camano Center, for having us at another successful resource fair!
