National Night Out

Connecting with Neighbors & Community

National Night Out is an evening to connect with your neighbors and local community; always held on the first Tuesday in August. This event is a nationwide effort focused on community-building, hosted by local neighborhoods. Whether it is a block party, a cookout, or festival, the intention is to foster safer and stronger neighborhoods by encouraging neighbors to connect with each other and promoting first responder-community partnerships.

Providence Swedish Caregivers were in attendance at Willis Tucker Park for 2025 National Night Out, led by Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. Providence Institute for a Healthier Community (PIHC) shared with kids and families health education nutrition information Seasons of Eating and handouts for our resource hub – where to access resources at www.livewelllocal.org such as healthy food, food banks, community gardens, and farmers markets. Folks of all ages played a fun trivia game motivating them to eat more fruits and vegetables and testing their knowledge of fruits and veggies.

The event captured community connectedness, lawn games, food trucks, access to resources including legal advocacy, long term care and aging, and many more. A staged helicopter landing was demonstrated during the event along with several fire trucks for kids and families to tour.

A special thank you and shout out to our fieldwork student, Chisom, from University of Washington- Bothell, who helped support this event!
