This year Mental Health was the second most impactful indicator on our county’s overall well-being score. Results also showed that mental health is strongly related to multiple areas of wellbeing; our physical health, sense of purpose and meaning, relationships with others, and opportunities for learning and growth.
Look for a variety of local resources to support Mental, Emotional and Spiritual well-being at www.livewelllocal.org
Visit our webpage to learn more about the annual PIHC Health and Wellbeing Monitor which measures indicators that our community identified within six key dimensions that work together to enhance health and improve quality of life, and how smaller community groups like churches, neighborhoods, or regions within the county can conduct their own survey—a My Community Health and Well Being Monitor.
Seasonal Hazards
The spring season brings an increase in asthma and allergies and with longer seasons of pollen your symptoms may last longer. If you do have seasonal allergies and or asthma the Snohomish County Weatherization Program assists with improving indoor air quality, lowering utility bills, and improving overall comfortability.

The American Lung Association hosts classes and in person and or virtual networking and support groups for providing direct access to lung disease management tools, education, and connection.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month
May is mental health awareness month – this year’s theme is “In Every Story, There’s Strength”. Whether by sharing, spreading awareness, or advocating for change, every action helps break the stigma and build a more supportive world for all. Connect with local resources supporting your mental health such as yoga, mindfulness meditation, and art therapy.

May is Stroke Awareness Month

When it comes to stroke, every second counts! Nearly 2 million brain cells die each minute a stroke remains untreated.

Know the signs of a stroke and B.E.F.A.S.T.
Balance
Eyes
Face drooping
Arm weakness
Speech difficulty
Time to call 911 if someone is having a stroke.

May Community Events


Spring into Recovery 2 resource fair, taking place on Friday, June 13th at Funko Field. This community event, is hosted by the Snohomish County Recovery Coalitions, will run from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM with a pro recovery baseball game from 6:30 PM – 9:00PM. The event will feature over 80 organizations offering FREE services including:
- Walk-in dental care
- Veterinary services
- Eyeglass assistance
- ID support
- Food and more
Saturday, June 28th 10am-1pm
Get hands on with a variety of working trucks that make life possible in our modern world. Kids (and perhaps adults) will enjoy sitting in the driver’s seat of many different styles of BIG trucks and vehicles. Look forward to cool vehicles, fun activities, and free swag!
