Edmonds School District held its 13th annual Health and Wellness Expo, on Saturday May 31st. This event incorporated an accessible fun run held at the Edmonds Woodway high school track and football field, several fitness challenges, snack stations, on-site health screenings, and connections to resources from several Community-Based organizations.
Providence Swedish Caregivers were in attendance and onsite for the Health and Wellness Expo. Our Trauma Injury Prevention department shared information about the importance of Stop the Bleed and upcoming webinar for BE SMART. Providence Institute for a Healthier Community (PIHC) shared with kids and families health education nutrition information- Seasons of Eating, handouts for our resource hub and where to access resources- www.livewelllocal.org. Students played a fun trivia game motivating them to eat more fruits and vegetables and participated in a jump rope activity encouraging movement and physical activity.
Despite the rainy weather, folks were all smiles and a big thanks to Edmonds School District for coordinating a great event.
