2018 Countywide Index Score

Overall well-being fell slightly in 2018, with those self-reporting “flourishing” (A) or “moderate/good” (B-C) declining, and “challenged” (D) rising. “Struggling” (F) remained unchanged from 2017. Overall Index score was down from 77% (a high C) to 75% (a middle C) – lower but not statistically significant.

Well-being declines were accompanied by a significant increase in felt discrimination, and a corresponding decrease in self-reported mental and emotional well-being, and a corresponding dramatic increase in self-reported discrimination experienced by respondents.
